New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya on the occasion of National Engineers Day, observed annually to honor the legendary engineer’s contributions to India’s progress.
In a message on X, the Prime Minister said: “Today, on Engineers’ Day, I pay homage to Sir M Visvesvaraya, whose brilliance left an indelible mark on India’s engineering landscape. I extend warm greetings to all engineers who, through their creativity and determination, continue to drive innovation and tackle tough challenges across sectors. Our engineers will continue playing a crucial role in the collective efforts to build a Viksit Bharat.”

National Engineers Day: Celebrating Innovation and Excellence
This year’s National Engineers Day theme, “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade”, highlighted the vital role of engineers in advancing India’s technological future.
Industry leaders also shared their insights on the day:
Sudhir Goel, Chief Business Officer, Acer India, said the theme reflects how engineers are leveraging deep technologies to create transformative solutions. “By harnessing deep tech, engineers are redefining possibilities, enhancing lives, and strengthening India’s global standing in innovation,” he noted.
Rajesh Pawar, Managing Director, Riveron, emphasized the expanding responsibilities of engineers, particularly in driving sustainability and ethical AI. “Engineers today balance innovation with responsibility. At Riveron, we are strengthening our pool of technology engineers with deep AI expertise to enable organizations to strategically embrace technology,” he said.
